How local friends can join in!
During our adventure we will be covering 1750km or 1087 miles by foot and by bicycle. We are very aware our epic journey does not pass through our home county, meaning it will be a challenge for families and young people from our local area to join us. We have therefore created ‘The Mini Woggle JOGLE’ – a circular route around Chandler’s Ford and Eastleigh that covers 100th (17.5km or 10.87 miles) of our total distance.
The route starts and ends at our Scout Hut on Brickfield Lane (SO53 4DP) and passes near several of the Scout Groups and Guide centres in our locality. The route is available on the Ordnance Survey app and as a link to the Ordnance Survey website. We have also created a table of the What3Words and the grid reference for each checkpoint.
There are 59 checkpoints for you to find, each with the name of a place we are visiting during our journey and a picture acknowledging our kind hosts in each location.
The Mini Woggle JOGLE is now live and will be running until we return from our journey at the beginning of September. Do it in one go or in sections at your convenience and why not invite your family and friends to join you.
Sponsorship
It would be great to get sponsored for this walk so you too can be part of the amazing fundraising effort to make #BrickfieldsBigBuild a reality.
We have set up a special event page for The Mini Woggle JOGLE on Wonderful.org to allow you to create your own fundraising page. Wonderful passes on all donations without charging any fees and in our opinion is therefore truly wonderful! 50% of everything you raise will go to Children In Need and 50% to #BrickfieldsBigBuild.
If you do want to collect sponsorship here’s a convenient sponsor form for you…..
Badges for taking part in The Mini Woggle JOGLE
You could complete your fundraising badge, a hike, part (or all) of one of your navigator badge stages, the Beaver Explorer badge, or your personal challenge. You could promote this event or you could (with parental permission and help) post about it on social media (both parts of the Scout Creative challenge award).
You may wish to purchase a The Great Woggle JOGLE badge to mark completing the route (which can be worn on uniform) or The Mini Woggle JOGLE badge. Both are available in our shop for you to buy!
Still to far away to participate?
Don’t worry! How about you make a Mini Woggle JOGLE in your local area- we can send you all the resources we’ve used so you can be part of this fantastic event!
