Want to know who’s mad enough to agree to take on such an epic challenge? Read on….
Ollie
Hi, I’m Ollie and I’m 9 years old. I’ve been a Beaver and a Cub, and have completed my Bronze and Silver Chief Scout Awards. I have also been awarded an extra special Scouting Award, a Commissioners Commendation for staying calm and using my first aid skills in a real emergency.
When I’m not Scouting I like to read (generally books by authors named David.. David Williams, David Baddiel or Tom.. Tom Fletcher, Tom Gates!), play lots of different instruments, see my friends and have lots of fun! 🤩 Oh, and I LOVE pandas! 🐼
I wanted to do the Woggle JOGLE because it will help lots and lots of different good causes to be able to keep running and I would love for there to be a new amazing Scout Centre that I can use with my friends.
Hattie
Hi, I’m Hattie and I’m 11. I am both a Scout and a Guide and love being part of both movements. I have been lucky enough to go on an international jamboree to Denmark, help at Carfest South and visit the Houses of Parliament (amongst many other things) through Scouting and Guiding.
I am absolutely obsessed with cuddly monkeys, adore playing my saxophone and the piano, and last summer I learned I rather enjoy performing on stage.
I am nervous, but excited about our Woggle JOGLE adventure. I really hope lots of people join us along the way and that we are able to raise a good amount of money for these 2 fantastic causes.
Bethan
Hi, I’m Bethan but I often go by my nickname, Chicken. I am 14 years old, a Scout (soon to be Explorer) and young leader at Beavers. I was recently lucky enough to go on my first (and hopefully not last) international jamboree in Denmark.
I love campfires and sitting up trees, generally while walking my little dog called Moby. I am also an acrobatic gymnast, so I spend a lot of my time on my hands!
I think the Woggle JOGLE will be an awesome adventure but also a huge challenge. It’s going to be so much fun, and I hope lots of people come and join us to help such a good charity and help build a great new scout hut.
James
Hi, I’m James. I am an 18-year-old leader with the 1st Chandler’s Ford Scouts, Monday troop. I was a Beaver, Cub, and Scout with the 1st and an Explorer with Chandler’s Ford Cobra unit. I have completed my Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum Chief Scouts Awards, and my Bronze, Silver, and Gold Duke of Edinburgh awards. I was fortunate to attend the World Scout Jamboree in America and Canada in 2019. I also play the Euphonium (google it!) in the 14th Eastleigh Scout and Guide band.
Outside of scouting I enjoy going to the gym and out with friends, but most of my time is used up studying for my A-levels.
I want to participate in the Woggle JOGLE as it will be a huge physical challenge and is also for two great causes. Having been with 1st Chandler’s Ford Scouts for just over 12 years it will be great to raise money for the new Scout Centre for the next generation of Scouts.
Cara
Hi I’m Cara, I’m an 18 year old ex-guide and ranger. During my time as a ranger and at secondary school I achieved my Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award.
Outside of studying for my A levels, in my free time I play golf both individually and with my college. I’m currently the Junior Captain at my Golf Club and have won national titles for my golf. At college I am studying: Digital Media, Business and Psychology; and am currently completing my A level exams. I also love going on walks and adventures with my friends, family and my dog, Branston.
I am taking part in the Woggle JOGLE because it is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am sure it will challenge myself and all the team and push us to our limits. This journey also allows me to support two incredible cause: Children in Need and Brickfield’s Big Build.
I can’t wait for this adventure to begin!!
Jennie
Hi, I’m Jennie and I’m the Group Scout Leader at 1st Chandler’s Ford Scouts. I was a Sea Scout and a Ranger in my youth, and got to do some amazing things like singing and dancing in the Royal Albert Hall in the National Gang Show!
I am not super sporty or a cyclist, but I do like a good walk and I love a challenge. I am stubborn, pretty determined, and definitely a completer finisher! I hope these traits will help with this challenge.
I am worried my old joints may hate me for taking on this epic mission, but can’t wait to experience such an amazing adventure, to meet the amazingly generous people helping and hosting us along the way and to see how much we are able to raise for these two amazing causes.
Phil
Hi, I’m Phil (known at Scouts as ‘Goose’) and I’m one of the Scout Leaders at 1st Chandler’s Ford Scout Group. I’ve been a Cub, Scout and Venture Scout and have amazing memories of Scouting.
I love being outside and active but, like Jen, I’m certainly not in peak condition and so this is a massive and exciting challenge.
I think just surviving as a team for 60 days on the road is going to be a major mission let alone travelling 1000+ miles as well!
