Staying with Scout Adventures Lochgoilhead
It was a sad start saying goodbye to Cara (who we hope will rejoin us!) and Bethan’s grandparents (who will also hopefully rejoin us for the end!)
We consoled ourselves with an awesome breakfast in The Real Food Cafe in Tyndrum before heading off back to the Bridge of Orchy to start day 4 of the West Highlands Way. We started off strongly with a quick march down to Tyndrum. We then had lunch at the The Green Welly Stop before jumping onto our bikes for a few kilometres (Dan had checked the route for us ahead of time!). As we were feeling good we ended our day walking for a few more kilometres to allow us to even up the next few days.
It was fairly windy at times today, with the whistling wind telling our watches that we were in too noisy an environment. Jennie foolishly forgot to take her antihistamines this morning and in the circling wind was really suffering. Ollie used her ailment as an excuse to make up a new verse to a well known campfire song- listen to it here on YouTube!
This afternoon we have driven to meet the amazing team at Scout Adventures Lochgoilhead who kindly invited us to stay with them for 2 nights between the Scouts leaving and Cubs arriving at their Annual ScotJam. We’re looking forward to not having to pack everything up before we walk tomorrow, and to therefore being able to get on the road in good time!
