Day 8- Drumnadrochit to Alltsigh
Actual distance 17.46Km or 10.85 miles
Total Ascent 460m

It was another long day with sunshine (briefly) and showers through a scenic forest route with tantalising glimpses of Loch Ness along the way.
Today was a bit different and we split into two groups- Cara and James set off on bikes to catch up the distance lost yesterday due to blisters. The rest of us set off on foot as planned and tackled another 10 miles of the Great Glen Way. The walking group were joined by Paul- the District Commissioner for Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey along with his beautiful dog Breagha who kept us in check all day.
James and Cara quickly caught up with us on our first climb of the day and maintained a cracking pace to finish both days by about 14:00 with the walkers coming in about 16:30!
We did however stop for some awesome coffee, hot chocolate and ginger cake (and also some gluten-free spicy plum cake!) at the Loch Ness Clay Works, Pottery and Tea Room which was a lovely treat.
We got back to the Loch Ness Bay Campsite to pitch our tents for the first time outside and then were lucky enough to be treated to a very yummy tea courtesy of Bethan’s Granny and Poppa and even pancakes for dessert! We finished the evening with Ollie entertaining us with his guitar and a song. A nice finish to a lovely day.
